Introducing Ian, our Chartered Physiotherapist serving Kenilworth and beyond. With a wealth of knowledge and extensive experience in the field, Ian is your go-to expert for all things physiotherapy in Kenilworth.

Ian holds a degree in Physiotherapy and boasts an additional BSc (Hons) degree in Sports Science. His dedication to learning led him to achieve Diplomas in Sports Therapy, Sports Massage, and Personal Training, giving him a unique perspective when approaching your pain-related concerns.

When you step into our Kenilworth Clinic we go beyond conventional methods. Our comprehensive approach involves assessing your entire body, not just the area of discomfort. This enables us to uncover the underlying causes of your pain or injury, whether they stem from a local source or elsewhere within your body.

For example,  Ian might focus on your neck to alleviate shoulder issues or examine your feet to address knee problems. A holistic view of the body’s biomechanics is an essential element of our  treatment strategy.

Ian’s expertise goes beyond quick fixes. He not only tackles your immediate pain or injury but also ensures its long-term prevention. He does this by retraining the biomechanics in various areas of your body, he addresses the root causes that initially led to the problem.

Experience the difference that Ian’s knowledge and personalised approach can make at our Kenilworth location.

Do we offer hands on Physiotherapy?

Sports Massage treatments in Kenilworth, Leamington Spa, Warwick, Solihull

Absolutely! Incorporating hands-on techniques into physiotherapy treatments has a rich historical tradition. While these techniques might be less commonly employed in settings like the NHS, they are regularly used in private clinics.

At The Reinge Clinic, residing in the heart of Kenilworth, we take pride in seamlessly integrating hands-on techniques into every aspect of our physiotherapy treatments. Whether we are performing a muscular assessment to identify weaknesses, or employing massage techniques to release tense muscles, hands on techniques are central to our ability to solve your pain or injury.

By applying manual pressure to release muscles, we elicit quicker results compared to relying solely on stretching exercises that you may do at home. Through massage techniques, we can rapidly alleviate muscle tension, instantly observing the impact on the strength or pain within a muscle or joint.

This not only enables you to depart our sessions with reduced pain levels, but also helps us to understand the causes of your muscular issues

At The Reinge Clinic in Kenilworth, each session is a dedicated 50 minute long experience, even for our follow-ups. This ensures we have time to reassess your condition at every session, perform hands on loosening and spend time showing you strength exercises to ensure you get the best result possible.

Why do I need to do strength work?

Men receiving Tennis Elbow Treatment

Strength training forms a vital cornerstone in our approach to pain resolution here in Kenilworth. While we employ hands-on techniques for realigning your body, conduct thorough assessments to pinpoint sources of discomfort, and facilitate passive mobilisation of joints and nerves. However, there is one aspect we can’t do for you, and at that is to strengthen your body.

Drawing from our extensive background and experience in strength training, we create bespoke exercises tailored to your unique needs. This allows us to achieve the desired outcomes without overwhelming you with a barrage of exercises. Sometimes, a single, precisely targeted exercise will yield superior results over a long list of strength exercises.

If you’re a commuter, or prefer to steer clear of traditional gyms, we can use our exercise science knowledge to tailor exercises to your specific needs. Nearly all exercises can be adapted to suit your circumstances.  Loosening alone will not allow for the complete resolution of pain and injury, almost without exception, the way to solve painful issues for the long term, requires strength work.

This is because the body’s muscles have memory. When loosened they will change their tone and “relax” allowing posture within the body to change. But over a few days, without a change in the strength of that muscle, or surrounding muscles, the muscle will simply tighten up again, leaving you back in pain.

At our Kenilworth location, we are committed to equipping you with the tools you need to thrive. By integrating personalised strength training into your treatment plan, we pave the way for long-term well-being and a future free from pain and limitations.

Frequently Asked Questions about Physiotherapy in Kenilworth.

No all our appointments can be booked directly with us, by calling or emailing us or using our online booking system. There is no need to contact your GP

All our Physiotherapy sessions are 50 minutes long. Unlike many of our competitors all of our follow up appointments are also 50 minutes long.

Having 50 minutes means that we can reassess your condition at every appointment. This allows us to check that the exercises are doing what we need and you are progressing.

Each follow up will also involve hands on work in the form of massage or soft tissue techniques and we will also check and change exercises at every appointment session.

We don’t feel we can do that effectively in less that 50minutes, so all our appointments last 50 minutes.

Depending on the area that needs to be assessed, we would ask you to bring a pair of shortish shorts, or a strappy top.

This allows us to see as much as possible so we can affectively assess you.

Our assessments often involve taking measurements and watching how muscles interact, so the ability to see the muscles is very useful.

You can either send us an email, give us a call, or use our online booking option.

You are very welcome to call or email Ian or Gina directly to discuss your condition prior to booking.

Physiotherapy is rarely a painful treatment. Assessing an injury or a sore joint can be painful, but allows us to understand where the pain is.

We use hands on techniques within our treatments and these can sometimes be uncomfortable but rarely painful. If things are painful, please let us know so we can modify our assessments or treatments.

If you have a complex health condition, or multiple health conditions,  we will always discus your situation with you prior to any appointment. We want our treatments to work for you, so, if after chatting to you we are unsure whether we can help; we will usually offer a Free assessment to confirm whether we can help with your specific issue.

For those with complex conditions, we will be able to suggest which of our therapists will be the best one for your specific situation.

Yes we can. We have several ways of referring you for imagery if we feel it is necessary.

We would start by writing a letter to your GP detailing the condition and why we feel a Scan or X-ray would be useful. Unlike many clinics, we don’t charge to write letters to GP’s.

If you would prefer to go private, we link in with Scan.com and several local private scanning companies. We can quickly and easily refer you directly for a Private MRI Scan, Ultrasound Scan or X-Ray should you need it without the need for GP involvement.

The results are then sent directly to us,  as well as to you, and we are then able to explain them to you and  to write to your GP for a consultant follow up should this be required.

Ian is our only Chartered Physiotherapist so the only one able to give Physiotherapy Treatments. However, if you would prefer to see a woman, Gina is an advanced level Sports Therapist and can treat most conditions.

Give us a call to talk over your situation and we can ensure you see the right therapist for you.

If you wish to claim on your private insurance, in most instances, you will need to book in with Ian rather than Gina, as many Insurance companies don’t cover Sports Therapy Treatments.
