Introducing Ian, our Chartered Physiotherapist serving Solihull and its surrounding areas. With a wealth of knowledge and experience in this region, Ian is your go-to professional for expert care.

In addition to his Physiotherapy degree, Ian holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Sport Science. His extensive qualifications also include diplomas in Sport Therapy, Sports Massage, and Personal Training, offering you a unique and comprehensive approach to addressing your concerns.

When you meet with Ian for an assessment, he takes a holistic view of your body, considering not only the areas of injury or discomfort, but also the underlying causes. His approach is distinctive – he might examine your shoulders to alleviate hip pain or focus on your feet to address knee issues.

Leveraging his diverse expertise, Ian not only tackles your current pain or injury at a local level, but he also ensures its lasting resolution. By retraining biomechanics in other interconnected areas of your body, he prevents the issue from resurfacing, allowing you to enjoy sustained relief and improved well-being.

Do we offer hands on Physiotherapy?

Sports Massage treatments in Kenilworth, Leamington Spa, Warwick, Solihull

Absolutely! While massage techniques have been gradually fading from many physical therapy approaches in recent years, The Reinge Clinic, located near Solihull, takes a different and more effective approach.

Incorporating hands-on techniques is a core component of every physiotherapy treatment we offer. Whether it’s a session dedicated to testing muscle strength or a targeted massage therapy session to relieve muscle tension, our hands-on approach sets us apart. This tactile method enables us to achieve quicker and more responsive results from our treatments.

Utilising our hands to release muscle tension, ensures swifter outcomes compared to relying solely on stretching techniques. By swiftly releasing muscles, we can promptly gauge the impact on your pain levels and overall well-being.

Our commitment to this approach means that not only do you leave our sessions with reduced pain, but it also empowers us to gain deeper insights into the root causes of your discomfort. That’s why our sessions are almost an hour long, ensuring ample time for thorough assessments, effective muscle release, and fine-tuning of exercises during follow-up appointments. At The Reinge Clinic, near Solihull, we’re dedicated to providing you with comprehensive care that delivers lasting relief and a better understanding of your pain triggers.

Why do I need to do strength work?

Strength training is a pivotal aspect of our physiotherapy treatments, right here at our Solihull area clinic. While we excel in utilising hands-on techniques to facilitate movement, conducting thorough pain source assessments, and mobilising joints and nerves, one element remains beyond our scope – strengthening your body.

Drawing upon Ian’s profound background in strength and conditioning, we offer personalised strength workouts that deliver the desired outcomes, without overwhelming you with extensive exercise lists. Sometimes, a precisely targeted exercise can yield superior results compared to a multitude of strength exercises spread across a page.

Our approach revolves around precision. We tailor exercises to align with your specific goals, job demands, and lifestyle preferences. Whether you’re frequently away for work or have reservations about traditional gym environments, rest assured – every exercise is adaptable to suit your unique circumstances.

For sustainable, enduring solutions to pain and injuries, a foundational level of strength training is indispensable. Without ample strength, your body’s optimal functioning is compromised, ultimately culminating in discomfort and injuries. At our Solihull clinic, we are dedicated to providing you with the tools and guidance you need to build the strength necessary for long-term well-being and pain prevention.

Frequently Asked Questions about Physiotherapy in Solihull

No all our appointments can be booked directly with us, by calling or emailing us or using our online booking system. There is no need to contact your GP

All our Physiotherapy sessions are 50 minutes long. Unlike many of our competitors all of our follow up appointments are also 50 minutes long.

Having 50 minutes means that we can reassess your condition at every appointment. This allows us to check that the exercises are doing what we need and you are progressing.

Each follow up will also involve hands on work in the form of massage or soft tissue techniques and we will also check and change exercises at every appointment session.

We don’t feel we can do that effectively in less that 50minutes, so all our appointments last 50 minutes.

Depending on the area that needs to be assessed, we would ask you to bring a pair of shortish shorts, or a strappy top.

This allows us to see as much as possible so we can affectively assess you.

Our assessments often involve taking measurements and watching how muscles interact, so the ability to see the muscles is very useful.

You can either send us an email, give us a call, or use our online booking option.

You are very welcome to call or email Ian or Gina directly to discuss your condition prior to booking.

Physiotherapy is rarely a painful treatment. Assessing an injury or a sore joint can be painful, but allows us to understand where the pain is.

We use hands on techniques within our treatments and these can sometimes be uncomfortable but rarely painful. If things are painful, please let us know so we can modify our assessments or treatments.

If you have a complex health condition, or multiple health conditions,  we will always discus your situation with you prior to any appointment. We want our treatments to work for you, so, if after chatting to you we are unsure whether we can help; we will usually offer a Free assessment to confirm whether we can help with your specific issue.

For those with complex conditions, we will be able to suggest which of our therapists will be the best one for your specific situation.

Yes we can. We have several ways of referring you for imagery if we feel it is necessary.

We would start by writing a letter to your GP detailing the condition and why we feel a Scan or X-ray would be useful. Unlike many clinics, we don’t charge to write letters to GP’s.

If you would prefer to go private, we link in with Scan.com and several local private scanning companies. We can quickly and easily refer you directly for a Private MRI Scan, Ultrasound Scan or X-Ray should you need it without the need for GP involvement.

The results are then sent directly to us,  as well as to you, and we are then able to explain them to you and  to write to your GP for a consultant follow up should this be required.

Ian is our only Chartered Physiotherapist so the only one able to give Physiotherapy Treatments. However, if you would prefer to see a woman, Gina is an advanced level Sports Therapist and can treat most conditions.

Give us a call to talk over your situation and we can ensure you see the right therapist for you.

If you wish to claim on your private insurance, in most instances, you will need to book in with Ian rather than Gina, as many Insurance companies don’t cover Sports Therapy Treatments.
