What makes us different?

Experience a unique approach to Sports Massage at the Reinge Clinic,  situated in the heart of Kenilworth. Our methodology is distinct – we take the time to understand your concerns and strategically target muscles for lasting results.

Imagine this scenario: you’re dealing with a tight back. This tightness could stem from rounded shoulders, causing tension in the upper back, or a tilted pelvis, resulting in lower back tension.

While a quick fix might involve merely loosening the back, we believe in addressing the root cause for enduring relief. At our clinic in Kenilworth, we take a comprehensive approach. Before addressing the upper back, we focus on releasing the front of your shoulders, aiding them to regain their proper alignment. By similarly targeting the front of your legs, we can alleviate a forward-tipped pelvis due to prolonged sitting. This allows us to pave the way for a more neutral pelvic position. This sequential strategy ensures that when we release the tight muscles on your back, the effects are more likely to endure beyond a few days.

Our Sports Massage experience prioritises long-term benefits and effective solutions.

Why do we give exercises?

In Kenilworth, we frequently encounter a common concern regarding Sports Massage. Many clients report a fleeting sense of relief, followed by a return of muscle tightness within a week or so. This occurs because Sports Massage primarily provides temporary muscle relaxation without affecting muscle memory.

Over the course of time, muscles become accustomed to their existing positions. When Sports Massage alters this position, the muscle gradually attempts to revert to its original state. The muscle feels strong in its familiar position and weak in the new alignment.

So we reinforce the new position by giving you a strength exercise and often a stretch. After a few Sports Massage sessions, with  strengthening in between, the body will learn to feel strong in the new position and your Sports Massage will then last.

All our Sports Massage sessions are 50 mins long. We do spend some of this time checking your history and doing a quick posture check to ensure we loosen the correct areas.

No, we will provide a towel if one is required. Sports Massage is different to a holistic massage session, so a towel is not always needed. We will always  preserve your modesty with a towel, should one be needed for the specific body part we are loosening.

Sports Massage is a deep massage and can be uncomfortable.  We use a pain scale to determine pain levels; and regularly ask you what pain level you are at and whether it is dropping. We will then modify the treatment based on what you tell us. You are always in control of the massage depth and we will always lower the depth if you are finding it too uncomfortable.

Absolutely, you can choose which of our therapists you see. If you prefer a woman you can book with Gina, if you would prefer a man , you can book with Ian.

Just let us know when you book whether you have a preference. If you choose to book on line, you can choose which therapist you use.

If you are using Sports Massage for maintenance, to keep your body in great shape and avoid pain and injury, we would suggest a Sports Massage every 4 to 6 weeks.

If you have a specific problem or tightness you would like us to sort. It would be better to do a few sessions a week apart. This is because, muscle has memory and will try to tighten again quickly. To stop this we will usually give you an exercise to strengthen and one to stretch alongside your massage.

Most insurance companies don’t accept Sports Massage.  However, some cash back schemes do. If you want to use your cash back scheme, please just let us know and we can give you a receipt to allow you to claim your treatment back.
